Health and safety is also high priority, and the team works with external Health and Safety specialists Hazardco to ensure good practice on all sites.

As a business member of Certified Builders of New Zealand, each job is supported by industry tested contracts and customers can access the 10 Year Halo residential building guarantee.

As well as bringing high quality skill and experience, the team also uses their knowledge of the building process to support the customer throughout a project.

• Site visit with sub trades prior to quotation to ensure more accurate pricing (than from plans alone).
• Clear scope of works for each project, and transparent costing
• Industry designed project contracts and variation orders (as needed)
• 10 Year residential building guarantee (provided by Halo).
• Regular project updates and communication

McGeady Builders Ltd can also provide support with draughting plans (via a trusted architectural draughtsman), and other services that will complete your project to the point of ‘turning the key and moving in’.

Andrew McGeady
Managing Director

Andrew completed his apprenticeship here in New Zealand in 1999 and his experience here and overseas has provided him with a broad base of building knowledge. Andrew is known for his attention to detail, and his commitment to training others to also build to the same high standard – this is why he invests in his team to ensure their success. Andrew also has a strong desire to invest in the industry, to make it a more professional place and to enhance the standard and skill base, and spent two years as President of the Otago Region for the Certified Builders Association of New Zealand.

When asked what it’s like working with his team, Andrew says “I believe builders like me have a role to play in developing the builders of tomorrow, so I really enjoy supporting my team to develop their building knowledge and skills. I also value the positive work ethic they bring to site each day. We are a hard working team, and have a good laugh along the way”.

Ludovic Gauchet
Leading Hand

Ludy completed his apprenticeship with McGeady Builders Ltd and takes a leading role in many aspects of a building project. He’s stickler for detail, just like his boss, and takes pride in a job well done. When asked what it’s like working for McGeady Builders, Ludy says “I really enjoy working in the construction industry, and I share Andrew’s drive for building quality. We undertake a wide range of projects which keeps the job interesting and challenging, and continually develops my building knowledge and skills”.

Aaron Farrell
Qualified Tradesman

Aaron has recently his apprenticeship with McGeady Builders Ltd under a scholarship scheme funded by Placemakers. He’s engaged with the industry and making his mark in the McGeady Builder’s team. Aaron notes “In the time that I’ve been working with Andrew we have done a huge variety of work, and learning from tradesmen who approach a job of any size with a professional attitude has only been beneficial for the way I treat my work. I enjoy working for a small firm because it gives a more personal environment to learn and work in”

William Bennett
Apprentice

Will joined the team in December 2015. He’s passionate about building, with skills beyond the site having recently built his own boat.  Will is currently working on his contribution to his bio…. watch this space.
