Our Story

MPB Builders is a multi-generational company proudly serving the Wellington region. Our journey began with humble beginnings; Ben, our founder, completed his apprenticeship with his father, Ned, who in turn trained under his father, Mick. In 2014, Ben established MPB Builders, focusing initially on small residential renovations. We quickly recognized that our skill set and attention to detail surpassed basic construction tasks. This realization propelled us towards delivering high-end detailing projects that require a refined touch.

Over the years, we have fostered strong relationships with renowned architects in Wellington and across New Zealand, enabling us to deliver intricately detailed architectural homes. Our team of qualified builders and professionals share our passion for building and creating, allowing us to successfully manage multiple construction projects simultaneously. Our dedication to craftsmanship and innovation has been a defining trait passed down through generations.

MPB built our new house on a back section in Newtown, Wellington using structurally insulated panels (SIPs). Ben and the team at MPB were friendly, great to work with and aimed to please. The communication was good and we had regular meetings to discuss progress and make decisions.

The project came in on budget and to time. We kept a close eye on costs and worked with Ben to ensure costs didn't escalate. A couple of things were over and a couple under. The sub-contractors were helpful, high quality and offered fair prices. Ben was able to offer budget-conscious options when needed.

We'd highly recommend MPB to anyone looking to build or renovate, they were professional and their team a pleasure to deal with.
