Vast expertise and extensive catalog of ideas. We’ve had Phill/Oakhill Carpentry complete all our building work over the last decade. We’ve thrown some crazy ideas at him like building me a 10m2 drumkit stage with storage underneath, a three story 16m high tree house, and of course ripping apart large parts of our house and putting it back together. No challenge has been too hard or too big for him.

Phill guided us along the way with his vast expertise and extensive catalog of ideas. The renovations he has done for us, simply put, would not feel like the home we love if we didn’t have his insight and hard work. Incredible workmanship, attention to detail and solutions focused.

Although we were enthusiastic and needed to extend our character house, we were not looking forward to the whole building process.You hear about the nightmares associated with a new build or renovation, so it was very important to us that we found a builder that we had confidence in, to not only project manage, but also have incredible workmanship skills and abilities. Phill is indeed that person. We cannot speak highly enough of him. 

 Phill’s attention to detail, his ability to think outside the box, be solutions focused and most importantly, back those attributes up with incredible workmanship, is unsurpassed. One example of this was his ability to take the architects plans for a house extension, and with his perfectionist attitude, he was able to provide us with an incredible outdoor decking area (and house extension) with enclosed wooden panelling. Phill’s attention to detail enabled everything to be aligned (joins, screws, etc) and look absolutely stunning.

In addition, Phill has a ‘can do’ attitude and does not look for quick fixes, but considers sustainability and longevity. We are thankful we had him as our head builder and wouldn't hesitate to use him again for any build.

Excellent planning and workmanship.

Our four wooden internal hardwood decks on our upper storey of our house had rotted with age and weather and needed replacement. Phill arrived promptly, discussed various options for new layouts of the decks and submitted a quote the next day.

Phill was very organised, all materials were delivered to site. He turned up and immediately set to work. He worked fast, systematically and very neatly. He even chamfered the edges of every piece of decking before it was installed to give a professional neat finish and set out the L-shaped deck with a herringbone pattern to modernise it. He also took care of our existing home to ensure it was not damaged during this work. 

We were extremely happy with the result and his workmanship. We could not give a higher recommendation. Having run our own plumbing business and previously working with a number of other builders, we appreciate what it takes to be organised and efficient. Phill met those standards on every count.

We then had Phill return to install wooden feature edging for the new concrete driveway and parking area we were having laid in our very long drive. This work was undertaken with the same efficiency, attention to detail and speed.

His excellent planning and workmanship reflects the wide experience he has gained working on high specification and high quality building renovations over the last few years.
