After spending years working in some of the largest investment banks around the world, Chris Edmonds, owner of Outdoor Rooms, discovered a passion for landscaping. Chris originally started landscaping in Victoria, Australia. 

He cut his teeth in the high-end residential market where he quickly made his mark on some very prestigious projects in Melbourne’s most upmarket suburbs. One of these projects won an LIAV (now known as Landscaping Victoria) award for best residential landscape in 2011 – a project which he both designed and built.

Upon returning to New Zealand in 2013, Chris took a role project managing large commercial developments around the North Island, including the project that won the ‘Special Feature of the Year’ in the 2016 Landscape Industries Association of New Zealand Awards. After learning the New Zealand market, Chris is returning to his first passion which is creating outdoor rooms that are innovative and functional, yet always elegant.
