R ARCHITECTURE

Gaurav and Vishakha Rajadhyax founded R Architecture in 2011. Both had previously worked in large commercial practices in Sydney and Melbourne and were seeking greater flexibility as they raised their growing family.

They wondered whether they could bring the design acumen they had learned on large civic and commercial projects to smaller scale suburban projects, and in so-doing contribute to improving access to great design and improve the impact of urban development in suburban contexts.

Since then, they have grown from strength-to-strength, nurturing a capable team that works collaboratively to develop solutions for clients. There are no “starchitects” at R Architecture.

Their approach has resulted in a cohesive and tight-knit team who are collectively focused on creating great experiences and outcomes for their clients.

In 2021, R Architecture celebrates its 10 year anniversary and commences its next chapter as the practice expands into the Sydney and Adelaide market.

Design

Concept Design:
During the concept design phase, we collaborate with you to translate your requirements into a three-dimensional solution that responds to your needs and budget. This involves design exploration and ongoing feedback.

1. Development approval:
   During this phase, we submit plans and elevations to local authorities to secure development approval and building permit and any other relevant approvals. We manage the administration of this project stage with transparency providing regular update.
   
   
2. Design Development:
   This phase involves liaising with external specialist consultants such as engineers, finalising materials selections and developing, refining, and detailing the project drawings. For large commercial projects, we work closely with specialist consultants to develop effective cost management and procurement strategies.
   
   
3. Interior and landscape design:
   Interior and landscape design are integral to a good, holistic design outcome. Our clients often engage us to carry out these services in addition to the architectural solution.
   
   
4. Construction documentation:
   This phase involves preparing detailed drawings and specification documents suitable for a builder to interpret and execute. This process considers the practical aspects of your project such as the building methodology, sequencing, cost, risk management, safety, and user-friendliness.

Gaurav Rajadhyax - DIRECTOR & ARCHITECT

Gaurav is a qualified Architect registered with ARBV in the State of Victoria and with NSWARB in the State of NSW. Prior to founding R Architecture in 2011, Gaurav worked with some of Australia’s leading commercial architecture practices including Lefler Symes and Hayball. During that time he developed experience working on large, complex projects in sectors such as multi-residential, education, retail, and heritage.

Vishakha Rajadhyax - CO-FOUNDER

Vishakha is a highly experienced building designer and project manager who has designed and delivered multiple projects in the residential, local government and essential services sectors. She is a bright and engaging person and a natural relationship builder.

Fletcher Hawkins - ASSOCIATE

Fletcher is a qualified Architect registered with ARBV in the State of Victoria. Fletcher joined R Architecture as a graduate in 2015. Since then he has flourished, taking on increasingly senior roles in the design, documentation, and delivery of projects. He takes a bespoke and non-ego driven approach to his work which allows him to deliver effectively and build trust both with clients and within project teams.

Gauri Pisolkar - ASSOCIATE

As a qualified Architect registered with ARBV in the State of Victoria, Gauri has applied her considerable experience in the successful delivery of many of our residential and community projects.

Diana Ruiz - INTERIOR ARCHITECT

Diana is a talented interior architect with experience in both interior design and architecture. Diana has worked on interior design concepts for a variety of high end residential and commercial projects. She brings a fresh and energetic attitude to every project team.

Mahreen Mahmud - PROJECT ARCHITECT

Mahreen brings a great depth of project documentation experience across a range of sectors including residential, childcare, commercial, and multi-residential development.

Terrence Ong - ARCHITECTURE GRADUATE

With both a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Project Management, Terrence brings a well-rounded grounding in both project design and delivery.

Anlin He - ARCHITECTURE GRADUATE

Anlin brings great digital production skills, qualifications in communication design and a can-do attitude to his role as Architecture Graduate.
