Our doors aren’t just any doors – they’re backed by our 3 ‘M’s - without these m’s, our doors wouldn’t be Sage Doors. They wouldn’t be be our trademarked brand names Acrygloss, Acrymatte, Invisedge, Timbalook, Lookcrete & Textaura.
They would just be doors.
We’ve travelled around the globe to find the highest quality materials. We’ve speced out our machinery to our requirements. We’ve made our own machinery that we couldn’t buy. When the door is closed, we open it… so that you don’t need to!

Our doors wouldn’t be the distinctive Sage Doors brands without the three essential M’s: Men, Materials & Machines. These are the elements that set us apart and make our doors stand out from the rest.
We’ve invested significantly to weave these three M’s together into all of our products, to ensure a consistent product, and high quality finish.
Our pursuit of high-quality materials has led us to travel the world to bring the best products to you. We carefully customize our machinery to meet our requirements, and when we can’t find what we need, we build it ourselves. Without these tireless commitments, our doors would be just that – doors, without the consistency and finishes that make Sage Doors truly unique.
A Kiwi Family Business
John Posthuma started the business when he was 24 years old. 43 years later some things have changed – however, the most important things remain the same.
The business started out making Sage Commercial Servery RollerDoors that we still make to this day. We later developed our single sided RollerDoors, a space saving door solution that is used in homes all over New Zealand.
In 2013, we introduced the world of seamlessly edged doors to New Zealand, by investing in laseredge technology.
In 2021, we dove into profile doors. Optidoor is our paintable door range. We have spent considerable time, research and development to create unique profiles and consistent sanding systems to ensure that we are producing the best quality doors for cabinetmakers all over New Zealand.
Most recently, in 2025, we are excited to introduce Opticoat – our pre-coated profile doors, made using the latest in automated coating technologies from Europe.
Sage Doors has changed over the past 43 years, but we’ll remain a Kiwi family business, with John’s children continuing the business into the next generation.
