Brett began his apprenticeship with a well-known builder who specialised in renovating and redevelopment of high-end sites in the Herne Bay, St Marys Bay, Westmere and Ponsonby areas of Auckland. After qualifying as a Carpenter he went out on his own and started contracting as a Project Manager and Builder for homes that some were valued from $2.0m or more.
