We enjoyed working with Shade Factor to develop a custom design solution which contributed significantly to the architectural outcome.

Shade Factor were able to provide a sun protection system that complimented the design strategy of creating a church that is welcoming and open to the community. The metallic finished external venetian louvres fit neatly within painted plate steel shrouds, visually balanced against the craggy texture of the split face concrete block facade, and provide sun protection to the large north facing windows while facilitating their intended transparency.

The Terrace House project had ambitious sustainability goals and restrictive compliance requirements, Shade Factor were able to provide products and services to satisfy both.

Shade Factor’s operable external blinds have been great at enabling us to design to bring the warming winter sun into our buildings when we want it, and to block out unwanted hot summer sun.
