Bespoke, beautiful craftsmanship

Simply Joinery was established by Marlborough joiner Glen Godsiff. From windows and doors to bespoke kitchen cabinetry and bathrooms, no two pieces crafted by Simply Joinery are ever the same – unless they’re created to match, of course. Glen says he knows each piece must be practical, functional and made to last, but that it must also incorporate all the subtle details and quality craftsmanship that his customers have come to expect. “Our pieces are designed and built uniquely for our clients, using a range of high quality materials.

We love incorporating clever design solutions, detailing, and exceptional craftsmanship that results in pieces which our clients love to use every day.” Glen’s career as a joiner began in 2000 when he took on an apprenticeship in Blenheim, his home town. On completion, he moved to the Tasman district where he spend 10 years working for two different companies – allowing him time to gain a broad knowledge of the joinery trade, and cement a passion for what he does. “Crafting something from a range of different mediums, including beautiful timbers, holds not just visual appeal, but textural appeal as well. This, to me, is what makes our trade special and continues to challenge and appeal.” In 2013, he decided to use his years of experience to open his own company, Simply Joinery.

Now, with a team of two other experienced joiners and help from his partner Helen in the office, the company’s workshop is based in beautiful Havelock. This location allows quick, easy access to both the Marlborough and Nelson/Tasman districts, the Marlborough Sounds, and customers in the lower North Island, too. Glen says being a small company means each customer receives personalised face-to- face service and a unique, high quality end result every time.

“We are not a large manufacturer – Simply Joinery is modelled around being a small, locally-owned company that is truly bespoke. Our experience means we can take on a wide range of projects, however complex or large, but we will also be there for those smaller jobs that our clients pop in to see us about. “The most important part of what we do is talking to, listening to and delivering a quality result for all our customers.” Simply Joinery is proud to have twice been recognised at the Golden Edge Joinery and Design Awards, winning the Supreme Award and the best kitchen in the $20-40k range.

The business also featured on TV3’s Grand Designs programme in 2018 for its part in the construction of a stunning Marlborough Sounds home.

Call or email Simply Joinery for a chat about what they can do for you and your next project – they look forward to hearing from you.
