Composition
Limestone Composition: A solid filled, lightweight composite stone consisting of 50% limestone (calcium carbonate) and 50% high grade acrylic resin finished with a 3mm coloured gel coat.
The benefits of limestone include lower porosity than porcelain or ceramic, excellent heat retention and no joints that can attract bacterial growth. Our products have undergone thorough testing and are highly scratch and stain resistant, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.
Solid Surface Composition: Solid surface is a premium, non-porous composite made from natural minerals, acrylic resins, and pigmented powder. Each bath or basin is individually formed to create a seamless, durable finish. Unlike limestone, the colour and finish run consistently throughout the material. All our products are manufactured to be 100% silica-free.
Offering a similar look and feel to natural stone, solid surface is significantly lighter, making handling, installation, and freight easier and often removing the need for structural floor reinforcement.
Benefits include a wide choice of colours, lower porosity than porcelain or ceramic, excellent heat retention, and a joint-free surface that resists bacterial growth. Solid surface can also be easily renewed if damaged.
Installation & Maintenance
Caring For Your Stonebath:
Cleaning and maintenance of matte white baths and basins.
For everyday cleaning we recommend using Jif or another cream cleanser. Do not use bleach or ammonia to clean baths.
Products to avoid near stone baths and basins are hair dye, bath crayons, hair chalk, tanning products, nail polish or nail polish remover. If contact occurs, rinse immediately. Do not place hot items on any stone products.
Cleaning and maintenance of coloured baths and basins:
Rinse after each use to prevent mineral and soap accumulation. Wipe clean and dry with a clean soft cloth.Use a cleaning product such as Jif, and a soft cloth. Re-seal the surface with a car wax twice a year to keep the natural shine.
Repairing damage:
While our stone products are durable, sometimes accidents happen. For damage that cannot be sanded, please contact info@stonebaths.co.nz
Scratches and stains:
It may be possible to polish very fine scratches and light stains away without using abrasive papers, scrubbing gently with a soft brush or plastic pad (not metal scouring) and a mild abrasive cream cleaner. Afterwards, scrub off with fresh water and re-polish.

- Clean the surface with water, making sure no dust remains.
- Use 800 sandpaper to polish the surface in focus with water to gain a smooth surface and matte finish.
- Wipe up the water with clean and dry cloth.
Gloss finish:
- Clean the surface with water and make sure there is no dust remaining
- Use 800 sandpaper to polish the surface in focus with water
- Use 1500 sandpaper to polish the surface with water to get a smooth surface
- Use 2000 sandpaper to polish the surface with water to get a smoother surface
- Wipe up the water with a clean, dry cloth.
- Polish with G3 wax or similar.
- Wipe up the remaining wax with a clean, dry cloth
Installation:
Installing your Stonebath:
Your bath is easy to install, but we do recommend using a licensed plumber. This installation guide does not included details of waste connection. The final decision about waste installation should be made by a licensed or qualified plumber.
Your bath should be un-crated and carried carefully into place. This is best done with 3-4 strong people. The bath waste will be inside the crate.
Once into position please follow these steps. You can download our install guide here.
If you have not purchased the matching stone waste for your bath, please contact info@stonebaths.co.nz
