Studio 28

About

Creating WOW interiors that are easy on the eye.

Karyn Hopper is the owner and fully qualified interior designer of Wellington based Studio 28 Interior Design. Whether you are building new, renovating or refreshing one room or an entire home, the design process is the same. Karyn brings creativity and professional expertise to the table to find a solution for your design dilemma. Using customisation, and detailed finishes, she will find a look that is tailored just for you.

The Design Process

Before we begin, I have a few questions…

The end result incorporates answers to those questions and more. You may need more time to answer, or you may filter your list, realising that some priorities may be more doable than others. The more information you share about what you want, the better.

The Real Value…

I am Diploma qualified and a member of the Designers Institute of NZ, and I know careful consideration and planning make the best results. With the answers done, I begin to develop a design concept that takes into consideration all your wants and desires.

We start with a Concept…

Using my skills and expertise I will design a solution for you. It’s the interior design process where I am working towards the end result. I may challenge you, throw other ideas into the mix for consideration, because that is what I do; extending ideas and creating a space that works well.

Then we move to Development…

I’ll be customising your home to make it personal. In the solution it’s all about the bespoke mix of items in your space to ensure your comfortable enjoyment. Drawings, floor plans, elevations, and details are provided when required. Shopping, sampling and showroom visits for all furnishings, fixtures, and finishings are completed.

Finally Installation.

I’ll source supplies and trades, get quotes and get the job done. You will be introduced to my network of suppliers and installers who will give you the utmost attention and care to detail. You get the best deal from my list of trade suppliers including custom designed upholstery, furniture, cabinetry, window treatments, lighting, bedding and more.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for working with us to realise our dream home. It would not have been the same without you.

Steph and Cam - Designer ambitions

From our first meeting Karyn you impressed us with your warm personality, creative ideas, enthusiasm and later your resilience with suppliers and builders. You've taught us so much about design, colour and patterns and so much more. You allowed our personalities to shine through, you respected our faith and what was important to us in our home. It has been a privilege to co-design with you and we LOVE our home. The end result is so stunning, we loved being locked down in it.

The house is so so so amazing, just like Greg said, every time we do a tour (we're getting good at them now), we tell of your awesome innovations and how you took us way further creatively than we would have ventured on our own. If there was one feature that seems to impress the socks off everyone its the upstairs bathroom, and we tell the story how you completely reworked the room, whilst staying within our restrictions of not being able to move walls, everyone walks round that corner and just goes 'wow'. Also getting lots of jealousy of the scullery! People keep walking up to the textured wall paper to touch it. And the floors blow everyone away. I could go on and on... So very grateful for your touch on the house.

Greg and Mandy - Modern urban living

Thanks so much for a great catchup on Saturday, and talking through lots of things and giving me lots of ideas.

Jen - new home build

It was a pleasure to come home on Thursday to the new living room curtains they look great. And the recovered squabs also look fantastic. I would like to proceed with the bedroom curtains before Christmas as I have my daughter staying for a few weeks in the new year. So go ahead and book me in.
