My association with Tony King began some twenty years ago when he was foreman at Cornicks Joinery in Thorndon. Some five years ago Tony purchased the business from Eric Cornick and is now at the helm of The Joinery King.

I first met Tony King in the early nineties. At that time he was the joinery Forman, for Cornick Joinery. He has in recent years bought and started out on his own, and called it The Joinery King. First I would say his attention to detail is second to none. Every millimetre is thought through exactly! Tony’s design process is always interesting to watch, and his drawings are done freehand, they are very clear and have all the measurements. He is also a good listener and great to work with. When I order joinery it always arrives on site, on time, and exactly what I wanted.

Quality is what I’m after on my jobs and I get it every time from The Joinery King. If it’s a kitchen for example, I want the best of materials to be used and that’s what turns up, on site. Most of my clients I’ve had for many years and Tony has been involved with many of those contracts. If he hadn’t made joinery that stood the test of time, I’d sure be hearing about it.

We have recently used The Joinery King for the design and installation of our new kitchen. As we had limited space to play with and the kitchen was to become a major element in our open plan living/dining area, the detailing was extremely important to us. They took the time to explore numerous options with us, and were very conscious of the importance of good design and the need for close attention to detail. The communication throughout the process in terms of expected timeframes was very good, and we were kept well informed.
