The 6HEAD story is deeply rooted in Australia's colonial history and serves as a significant cultural heritage of the country.
At the heart of our restaurant design is a curtain that will transform the kitchen into a theater, featuring two distinct stories. The first story portrays the arrival of the First Fleet in Australia with only six Black Cape cattle, which were later lost and found eight years later when over 100 of their descendants were discovered 80 miles inland in an area named 'The Pastures' by Governor Hunter. This event helped save the colony from starvation and remains a significant part of Australia's cultural heritage. This rich heritage is what inspired Design Partnership when designing 6HEAD Perth.
The second story depicted on the curtain is that of a Dutch explorer who discovered Perth while sailing up the Swan River. To reflect the dreaming stories central to Aboriginal culture, the curtain will be designed in a dreamscape, adding a touch of imagination and wonder to our restaurant.
As a social space, we aim to make our visitors acutely aware of the rich anecdotes that make up Australia's history, some of which are celebrated and others not. By carefully weaving the 6 Head story into the existing historical fabric of the Campbell's stores site, we hope to create a unique and memorable dining experience that celebrates Australia's cultural heritage. Our commitment to sourcing the finest beef from reputable local meat purveyors is a testament to this heritage, and we take pride in serving the best steaks in Sydney.
Our studio specializes in design for behaviour.
We have done so for almost 30 years and in this time we have learned a tremendous amount about how people behave naturally and instinctively within these social environments. We have learned the hard way that in order to design successful venues, we needed to place predictive human behaviour at the heart of what we do. We capture succinctly how most people behave most of the time in order to design spaces for the most joy and ultimately the most success. This assists us in capturing the spirit of place.
