After renovating their first home—a cozy villa that attracted a strong online following—DIY duo Shayden and Georgia Whipps (of Moochstyle) were ready for a new challenge. Their second project: a post-war brick bungalow in Bryndwr, Christchurch. With its generous section and timeless architecture, the home offered the perfect blank canvas for the couple to showcase their evolving style, this time leaning into a Nordic farmhouse aesthetic.

One of the most striking updates was the kitchen and laundry, where outdated terracotta tiles made way for a warm and character-rich flooring choice. After trialing numerous samples from their local Flooring Xtra, the couple landed on Quick-Step Impressive laminate in Classic Oak Brown—a last-minute addition that perfectly captured the timeless, high-spec farmhouse look they envisioned.

Durability was just as important as design. Having used Quick-Step in their previous home, Shayden and Georgia knew the water-resistant, scratch-resistant surface would stand up to daily life—and to Frankie, their energetic Boxer dog. The rich dark oak tone grounds the light and airy kitchen design, complementing custom cabinetry, brass hardware, and an Italian quartz benchtop, while giving the space a refined yet lived-in warmth.

The result is a kitchen that balances rustic charm with modern function, built to last and styled with intention—perfectly embodying the couple’s design ethos of investing in quality where it matters most.
