Flokk supply versatile seating at new Warsaw office of British multinational professional services firm Arup.

Working in collaboration with Workplace architects, Arup took an interdisciplinary approach, including neuroscientific research and 6R principles (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair), to design an office with a variety of spaces tailored to employee’s, built on strict sustainability principles. The interior project includes some of Flokk’s most sustainably made products to help Arup achieve their aims.

Taking over from the previous tenants, Arup wanted to minimise the carbon footprint of their redesign project. Selective demolition in line with LEED guidelines allowed for the reuse of many existing elements, including HVAC (50 FCUs, air diffusers), ceiling panels, and interior doors, which also helped to reduce overall fit-out costs by 20%. New ceilings and carpets are made of natural, recycled, or reclaimed materials. Prototype materials are also used in the project, including mycelium, hempcrete, flax, paper, and compressed seaweed.

Flokk is a design driven company creating products that earn their right to exist through serving fundamental human needs. Addressing emotional as well as physical factors all the while keeping the interests of future generations in mind. But also indirectly, through sharing transparently about our practice and progress, to inspire the great work of others. As we do acquisitions, we invite new family members to take part in the same philosophy and journey. When customers choose our furniture, they get lasting, meaningful objects, produced with the lowest possible environmental footprint. They contribute to an onwards journey of steady improvement at scale.
