By Sumich Chaplin Architects
An existing modernist dwelling was given a fresh new look with the introduction of steel joinery and precast concrete panelling. In preserving the original form and style, the house has been extended to maximise the full width of the site and meet the clients desire of modern open plan living. The alteration is carefully considered to create generous new living spaces that extend across a large private landscape to a suspended pool. A juxtaposition of new box forms is enhanced by a varying material palette to sympathise the new with the scale and proportion of the existing architecture.
