Located to the east of Hawke’s Bay wine country, “The Farm” at Cape Kidnappers provides luxury lodge accommodation sitting above rolling hills and rugged cliffs.
“The Farm” at Cape Kidnappers is ranked as one of the top two hotels in New Zealand and Australia (Travel + Leisure) and within the top 20 hotels in the world (Conde Nast Traveller).
Paradise Stone was selected as an integral design element.
Pool pavers and stone pavers were used extensively in the construction of buildings, pools and spa. The stone was used for both external and internal walling, and their ‘crazy paving’ was placed around the swimming pool.
Using a thousand year old technique, the walling was "bagged". This creates a softer, less detailed finish, while the colours and personality of the stone are still visible.
The Paradise Stone sits harmoniously within the luxury of the lodge, as well as the natural environment. This is no surprise, given that 30 million years ago - it was the environment.
Paradise Quarry worked with Auckland Stonemasons and Natural Habitats to bring this incredible project to life. They are the North Islands premier boutique quarry for Northland Oceanic Schist.
Operating for more than 30 years, Paradise Quarry occupies ten acres and sits within 140 acres of stunning rolling pastoral land overlooking the water and Whangarei city.
Paradise Quarry is the North Islands premier boutique quarry for Northland Oceanic Schist. Operating for more than 30 years, our quarry occupies ten acres and sits within 140 acres of stunning rolling pastoral land over-looking the water and Whangarei city.
Our stone is predominately a bluey-grey colour, with the balance of the stone featuring earthy colours ranging from bronze tones and sandy browns, occasional white faces to slightly greener highlights. For any project, the result is a beautiful blend of all-natural colours providing visual balance through subtle contrast and variable textures.
The ability to achieve such natural, unique and stunning outcomes has resulted in Paradise Quarry stone being the stone of choice for many of the North Island’s premier projects.
