Cooroy Library

Cooroy / 2011-2012
Cooroy Library is a collaboration with Brewster Hjorth Architects.
The Cooroy Library and Digital Information Hub was developed as part of the Mill Place Master Plan for Cooroy which was was to create a new vibrant link between the existing Butter Factory and the upgraded rural industry buildings at lower Mill place, vacated by the closure of the Timber Mill.
Robinson Architects have an ongoing relationship with this precinct, now as architects for all facilities and structures associated with the new Hinterland Adventure Playground (under construction) that is sited between the library and Lower Mill Place. Client again is Noosa Council
The library includes digital training rooms, community rooms, community lounge reading areas and a large covered verandah
The library was designed with a strong focus on widespread community interaction including children and senior citizens.
2013 Australian Institute of Architects (Sunshine Coast Chapter) Building of the Year
In 2016, Cooroy Library was voted one of Six of the World’s Coolest Modern Libraries by TheUrbanDeveloper.com, a property and urban development industry news website.It was voted one of the six grooviest libraries around the world.
