Situated at the junction of the residential and business precincts of Corrimal along Princes Highway, the proposed development responds to the built form and scale of the existing context while being consistent with desired future scale of developments.
The building draws on a number of aspects of the local identity of Corrimal, to strike a balance between the existing character and the desired future character for the town center.
The brick corner accentuates the entry into the local center of Corrimal and establishes a warm textural character for the building. The ground floor business premises reflect the character of the commercial uses along Princes Highway, with a large proportion of glazing and some masonry elements.
The residential levels above comprise a lighter external painted concrete finish, incorporating a contemporary look to the development, with blue steel and timber look aluminum battens providing a dramatic contrast in colour and form. Landscaping acts as another textural component of the design, being integrated in raised planters.
