This project was to upgrade and refurbish the added value milk-powder line at DSM's processing plant in Henderson, West Auckland.

Working with WorleyParsons (now known as Worley), we provided demolition and building services over 12 weeks to create five new hygiene rooms in which infant milk formula products would be processed and packed.

How we made a difference

The details

Our Q Commercial Construction team demolished walls, ceilings, floors, and specialist doors in the existing plant before beginning the layout reconfiguration and construction of the high-care, high-hygiene rooms. Conductive floors were among the technical features of this refurbishment and were important to protect the plant’s people, materials, and sensitive equipment from electrostatic discharges.

This work included a revised wall layout, new specialist doors, and new, specialized floor finishes. Providing for new drainage points and hot and cold water feeds to repositioned hand wash basins were part of the work.

We engaged a specialist flooring subcontractor to install the conductive flooring and supervised extensive quality testing throughout its application to ensure that it would perform as specified.
