A modern architectural masterpiece completed in 2023, Estuary Drive, Mangawhai harmoniously blends with its stunning natural surroundings, featuring generous spaces and serene interiors that evoke the tranquility of a pristine beach.
Mercer and Mercer Architects idea was to imagine there was no subdivision, no roads with no neighbours, and only consider the extraordinary natural environment with sand dunes in the setting sun, and a pohutkawa rimmed cove at high tide.
So the form is simple and generous like a farm building, with large openings to capture the drama as it unfolds sunrise to sunset.
Then we made sure the neighbours were screened out by careful site placement, landscaping and attention to detail.
The interiors follow the a mantra, cool calm crisp and natural, like clear water at a pristine beach.
