By Reyburn & Bryant
Project: Reyburn and Bryant were involved in gaining resource consents for the Kaitaia flood risk reduction program (on behalf of the NRC), and processing the resource consent for the Kaeo flood risk programme (on behalf of the NRC and FNDC).
The Kaitaia project involved obtaining a resource consents from the Far North District Council and the Northern Regional Council to replace the existing Whangatane spillway with a split-level weir that allows floodwaters to enter the spillway earlier, reducing risk of flood damage in urban Kaitaia.
The Kaeo project involved processing a resource consent on behalf of the Northern Regional Council for the construction of several stop-banks aimed at deflecting flood waters away from the township and reducing the impacts of flooding in the Kaeo region.
