A representative of McKenzie and Willis assisted this client with their interior designing needs, and suggested them to get in touch with us. The client wanted to fill this space with something unique and eye-catching, after hearing about our moss art they knew this was perfect solution for them.

The ‘Fields of Delight’ is a composition made of four individual circles that were designed to be displayed as one piece. A variety of moss species was used with a dark tone colour palette. We created a floating effect by elevating one frame slightly above the other. This art piece is located in the client’s bathroom in Speargrass Flat, Queenstown, where we matched the frame colors to the wooden panels already existing in the bathroom. Due to the calm, natural tones of the bathroom, the green moss stands out as a true centerpiece in this beautifully designed space.

We used handmade timber frames filled with four types of moss: Bun, Flat, Reindeer and Thick moss in five different green shades.

The client's vision was to have something circular but didn’t have much of an idea in mind. We created a few different visual propositions to choose from. The client wanted to blend items of two visuals together which brought us to the current piece.

The products we work with are so versatile that it is sometimes hard for clients to envision the possibilities for their space. Being able to let our creativity and expertise run freely is what we enjoy doing most, this project gave us exactly that.

Moss has been found to be effective at removing pollutants from the air, such as formaldehyde and benzene, making it a great addition to indoor spaces. It also adds a natural and calming element to the room. Since it does well in areas where the humidity is between 40% and 60%, placing it in a bathroom without indirect sunlight is the perfect area for this type of art.
