By JTB Architects
Our client's vision was to extend and refurbish their existing brewery, bar, cafe and commercial kitchen. The refurbishment reflects the heritage of the Founders Park and Founders brewery, with emphasis on the brewery and beer.
The design improves the linkage between interior and exterior spaces through the relocation of the existing kitchen, allowing the bar and cafe to open up to the beer garden for outdoor drinking and dining. The garden also features a hop structure to visually enclose the space whilst showcasing a key brewing ingredient. Expansive glass walls are used between the brewery and bar to showcase the brewing process and create activity in the space.
The design utilizes robust and honest material selections to emphasize the heritage identity of the brand and connection with the brewery. As part of the finishes, an inverted bottle pattern has been utilized as part of acoustic screening whilst creating visual interest.
