Hotel Fitzroy

A flawless and unforgettable five star boutique hotel in the heart of Ponsonby offers a stylish and carefully executed experience where guests can make themselves completely at home.   The immaculate and attentive environment sets a new benchmark for boutique hotels in Auckland.

The project by Fable Hotels and Resorts, with interiors by Mandala Design, is one of two hotels (the other is the historic Wains Hotel in Dunedin) that has opened to guests, with a collection of 13 other properties in six locations across New Zealand that will ultimately offer the same exclusive experience.

Hotel Fitzroy sets itself apart from other hotel experiences. Guests receive a highly personalised stay that matches their specific requests with hosts attending the guest’s every need.

“For our customers, one size most definitely does not fit all, so we also want to create space within Fable’s offering to cater to different people wanting differently balanced experiences as guests.”

The landmark premises is a heritage, two-storey, white fenced manor offering two luxury and four superior rooms that is juxtaposed by a dramatic architectural building with an external spiral staircase and four additional superior rooms.

The brief for the hotel was to create something unforgettable; something each of the guests would treasure.

“For our customers, one size most definitely does not fit all, so we also want to create space within Fable’s offering to cater to different people wanting differently balanced experiences as guests,” says Lisa Breckon, CPG Hotels Director of Sales and Marketing.

Each guest room is exquisitely styled with soft furnishings from Mokum and James Dunlop Textiles.

Curtains in James Dunlop Palacio are ideal for hotel interiors due to the fabric’s fire retardant attribute and heavy duty velvet construction.

Sheers in Mokum Shoji, offer a beautiful soft drape that filter though the light and really capture the contemporary aesthetic, while linings in James Dunlop Nitefall ensure complete blackout for restful sleeping.

Bed bases have been cleverly designed using Tanzania by James Dunlop which is a heavy duty weave creating a fabulous textural upholstery and works to complement the other fabrics in the rooms.

It’s these quality touches throughout the hotel that provide the ultimate in luxury accommodation. From the overarching design, inspirational dining and tailored experiences that ensures guests will have the best stay attuned to their tastes.
