Over the years, we’ve come to identify the most remarkable projects as having one thing in common: they form from truly organic foundations. When it comes to House Around A Pond, the reality is no different. This residential home stems from a forty year relationship between architect and client. As for Krause Bricks, we were the lucky team recruited to bring this natural vision to life. And exactly that we did, alongside experts at Carr Interior & Design and Leone Constructions.

What was unanimous from the beginning of this project was a desire to reflect nature at all corners. That meant paying subtle reference to neighbouring greenery, open space, as well as the most central muse of all, the nearby pond.

Krause Bricks in Ghost Grey were, ironic as it sounds, a natural choice. Their contemporary and clean look was enhanced for this project by a unique finish achieved with a wet-sponge mortar, playing off the serenity of their natural surroundings. These bricks are an increasingly popular selection for projects that look to boast spaciousness, modernity and an abundance of natural light.

Krause Emperor bricks are featured in the luxurious outdoor areas and the equally bright indoors, establishing a sense of flow between both areas. Our muted yet textured bricks allow light to be effectively controlled from day to night. Look closely and you’ll notice the way shadows bounce between brick fixtures, adding to the understated contrast and intrigue that already exists within this stunning design.

The epitome of calm, House Around a Pond embodies the essence of home in its conjuring of a sense of place through muted sensibilities and a deliberate connection to nature. Carr creates the ideal place of retreat through restraint, composed, clean lines and an openness of spatial volumes and light-flooded spaces. — From The Local Project
