This high-performance home, designed to Passive House standards, is nestled in the rural outskirts of North Auckland.
Designed and owned by Joe Lyth from Respond Architects, the project creates a better living environment for a growing family, free from cold, damp and mould.
The home optimises a STIEBEL ELTRON WWK 302 heat pump for energy-efficient hot water. Alongside the LWZ 180 heat recovery ventilation unit, the home has an airtightness of 0.38 at an average of 50 pascals, well under the 0.6 required for a Certified Passive House.
