Milford Shopping Mall has recently received a comprehensive renovation to modernize the look and upscale the market perception. Ngaere Duff and the team at NZRPG have calibrated the design to create a destination for the Milford community.

The commercial positioning of this project is Quality and Life. The lighting design of this project does not wish to pursue strong rendering and intense atmosphere, which is different from general commercial plazas. Instead, the intention was to focus on and bring out architectural details, to create a relaxed and comfortable shopping environment. We believe this best complies with the commercial positioning of this project.

The renovation of the Mall was a comprehensive project and to enhance the final result Lighting Solutions was selected to propose the correct lighting system, to accommodate the need of the main Mall and the shops, to avoid unbalance and allow the community to enjoy the space in a natural way.

Aside from the unhindered space presentation, the most attractive element of the interior plan is the huge central court and its glass roof.

Lighting Solutions proposed the Linear system MT1-45 from the Macrolux portfolio to meet expectations and deliver well-awaited support to the visual demands of the Mall occupants.

The MT1_45 system, is a profile with an integral driver and the possibility to methacrylate diffuser of frosted white diffuser.

Very long linear lines up to 100mt have been installed surface mounted with recessed bracket and a hidden connection to create the effect of a long seamless

With lighting being one of the main factors in the look and feel of a space, the goal was to give a meaningful change to the layout and highlight the architectural details of the space. Large areas, such as Malls, require more attention to details and good lighting.

For this project, it was very important to maintain versatile functionality while also being creative. With such a large space, it was important to properly distribute our lighting so no matter what the space was used for, lighting would always be constant and functional.  LED Lighting has a lifespan of almost twenty times more than conventional lighting. Giving this space a cutting-edge in terms of maintenance and replacement costs because of the long-lasting quality, design and functionality.
