This beautiful home in Mount Martha has a stunning outlook. Gaze across the newly landscaped backyard, generous modern pool and you'll see the gently rippling surface of the ocean on Port Philip Bay.
The clients of this spectacular home are a family with children, and so the project required multiple spaces to be created to play, relax and connect. CJ Cornish at Cosh Living was asked to furnish the poolside area with outdoor furniture that would enhance the beauty of this project.
"I selected teak as the primary material to feature in the furniture setting. The natural timber embraces the warmth of the incredible stone wall, and brings a sense of the surrounding Mount Martha landscape to the poolside."
In the spotlight were the Forrest lounge chair, designed by Melbourne designer Justin Hutchinson for Kett. "Its woven details, curved backrest and plump cushions provide interest, add softness. I paired these with the Hexagon tables by Tribu, which hero a lavastone insert in luxurious, silky finishes of blue and linen that are amazingly strong." says CJ.
The round outdoor rug that grounds the lounge setting is by Gloster. CJ illustrates "Adding an outdoor rug poolside not only adds softness underfoot in a hard slippery area, but adds understated elegance." The planters are the Dala collection by DEDON, sculptural woven pots made of powdercoated aluminium and recycled plastic.
"All the furniture is built to survive the outdoors. So they don’t just look gorgeous, but are resilient to UV, mildew and poolside splashing (even the cushions!).
