Mt Rosa Wines 2021

Situated in Gibbston with the Kawarau river and Mt Rosa as its borders, this tasting room and restaurant riffs off its first home in the sheep shed up the road.

The challenge was to translate the character of the original shed into a much bigger, fit for purpose space. Materials are honest, warm and as local as possible. The fire is huge, tasting bench big enough to dance on and the vegetable garden has invited itself (and is welcome) on to the verandah. There is a private dining space for special occasions. Mt Rosa is a generous space, it gives a lot to all the senses.

We wanted the interior to match the warmth and spirit the proprietors have instilled in their wines, their food and their people.
