This stunning Milford beach-front home renovation was the winner of the Master Builders Gold, and Gold Reserve Awards. The transformation of this 454 sqm home into a contemporary Cape Cod-style escape has been extremely thorough, with fragments of existing framing all that remain of the former family home. The plaster cladding was stripped and replaced with modern cedar weatherboards, with the new shingle roof capping things off nicely. The home’s many small rooms were demolished and new structural beams were installed to support a more open layout, while on the exterior, large decks enjoy the proximity to the ocean and provide peace and quiet. Residents and guests are easily accommodated in the five beautifully updated bedrooms, while three tiled bathrooms provide everyday luxury, with walk-in glazed showers and freestanding bowl-shaped baths. Other stunning features of this remarkable makeover include a spiral staircase, ornate fireplaces and a state-of-the-art kitchen with marble benchtops.
