Brief
A design collaboration with the Architectural Designer (Kyle Kake at Mason Street) and the clients to create a new home at the entrance to the Whangarei Harbour for their young family. The brief was to create a relaxed environment that didn’t feel too new, that would be robust, timeless and easy to live in. With a focus on incorporating elements of Taraire timber milled from their family’s farm, we selected oak flooring, plywood joinery, rendered wall and timeless fittings.
