Brief

Working closely with the client on both the architectural layout and features, our involvement was to provide design support and guidance on the spatial planning, kitchen and custom cabinetry design, hard finishes, fixtures and lighting.

Services and Contributors

Full design from concept to completion. Design collaboration with Mason Street Architectural Drafting on the layout of the interior spaces on the site and architectural elements. Conceptual and detailed design of the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms, including custom vanities and built-in furniture. Interior design selections and full specification of interior finishes, fixtures and colours. On going site support throughout the build process.

Professional

With our clients unique brief and needs at the heart of every design, we aim to create meaningful spaces that are comfortable, functional and are easy to live in.

Roum Studio is a Northland based Spatial Design and Interiors studio that is focused on creating functional and considered interior environments. The studio is led by Annwen Thorne.

Annwen is a qualified Interior Designer (BDes Interior). After graduating in 2008 she worked with a Whangārei based Architecture and Engineering firm before shifting into contract work to balance work life with motherhood. With over 15 years of experience working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the design & construction industry.

Annwen has a personable approach to the design process, seeing each project as a close collaboration with each client. Taking on each project as if it were her own, and with the clients day to day living requirements at the heart of each design, she brings her experience and knowledge to support and guide her clients through the building process, always with the intention of bringing beautiful spaces to life through an enjoyable journey.

Roum - Old English, derived from the Scottish Gaelic word for room - Rúm. Meaning a Room, a Space or a span of time. Also, an opportunity.
