Introducing the Northcote Point House, a stunning contemporary seaside new-build crafted by Macfie Architecture. Our innovative clients had a vision to subdivide their existing bungalow and create a modern low-maintenance home for their retirement years. The brief called for a two-storey design that maximised city and sea views, all while seamlessly harmonising with the existing bungalow.

The final design offers a minimalistic form, blending traditional elements that pay homage to the heritage of the area. Clad in white weatherboards and painted brick, the living area boasts vaulted ceilings, creating a sense of space and airiness in the 70-square-meter layout. Skylights strategically placed above the lounge and kitchen flood the interiors with natural light, while the upper-level balcony gaze across the harbour and the Auckland city skyline.

Completed in 2023, this contemporary seaside new-build project showcases Macfie Architecture's commitment to creating bespoke, elegant spaces that capture the essence of modern living while honouring the past.
