A robust 1500sqm cast-concrete platform designed to accommodate over half a million visitors annually, offering stunning views of the sacred Pōhatu geyser valley while harmonizing with the landscape through natural plantings.
A beautiful, enduring platform, to gather, manaaki and view the sacred Pōhatu geyser valley below. Built to cater for over half a million visitors a year, the 1500sqm cast-concrete structure speaks of strength and permanence. The building’s materiality is informed by the thermal reserve’s extreme environmental conditions and will become one with the landscape as plantings envelope it over time.
