After suffering extensive damage during the Kaikoura earthquake, the main section of the Queensgate Shopping Centre in the heart of Lower Hutt was demolished, re-designed and rebuilt. Using vertical slats and screens from my client, innovative Invercargill company Insol Ltd, the exterior is complemented with a classy architectural finish. Designed by Buchan Group and built by Naylor Love, the new mall has a pleasing aesthetic that changes as the light moves around throughout the day and into the night as well.
