Riverside Farmers’ Market is a 3500sqm high-end retail development on the site of the Re:Start Mall -bordered by Cashel and Lichfield streets and Oxford Terrace in Christchurch's CBD. It include a farmers’ market, restaurants, food stalls and retail shops.
Novo Group were contacted in the early planning stages of the project to provide preliminary design guidance, working with the Project Team through design development of the site. The nature of the development and it's location required the Planning Team to review all historical approvals for the site, and closely liaise with CERA in terms of their plans for retail precinct and inner city.
We also worked with Matapopore regarding the cultural significance of the river as the heritage and environmental interfaces were key considerations to the client.
Transport planning services resolved access issues to the development as well as the onstreet loading in Oxford Tce and Cashel Mall, and establishment of the new 'Central Car Park'.
We resolved possible restrictions relating to urban design and signage planning on the high profile site, as this was a priority for the client. Novo Group went on to providing ongoing support with tenants and resolving issues in relation to open spaces.
