Remarkable Landscapes Limited, is a Cromwell based landscaping company that has been operating in the Wakatipu and Central Otago area since 2015. 

Richard’s knowledge stems from a bachelors degree in Arts majoring in Graphic Design, as well as 14 years in the Wine Industry as a Viticulturist and Vineyard Manager. The earlier years in viticulture were spent developing new areas of vineyard in Gibbston Valley for Mt. Rosa and managing Sleeping Dogs Vineyard for the prestigious Movie Director, Roger Donaldson.

This experience lead on to manage Misha’s Vineyard in Bendigo for four and a half years. This vineyard and site receives high praise, and is highly regarded by Raymond Chan, Bob Campbell, Robert Parker and Sam Kim, world renown wine experts. During his management the vineyard received an “Outstanding Gold” in 2010 at the London Wine Show for its Verismo Pinot Noir; one of only 2 vineyards to achieve that accolade that year. The “no compromises” philosophy that set the vineyard apart still influences his work ethic today. Much was learnt about soil and fertilisation based on the Albrecht Philosophy working alongside Robin Dicey.

Rich spent some time as foreman for Price Landscaping in Queenstown before setting up his company as it is today.

A love for gardening and nature is inspired in his quality of work and attention to detail. His other interests include art and landscape painting, photography, hunting and fishing, camping, building projects, welding, propagation, and wine appreciation. Rich has also completed his Level 3 Horticulture certificate.

Rich and his family reside in Cromwell, lending 20 years experience to the Southern Lakes and Central Otago area.
