By AVÉORA Design Studio
This retreat house is situated near Arrowtown – the heart of the New Zealand gold rush in 1865. Honest materials favoured by gold miners such as stone, wood and steel have been used, interwoven with luxury detailing and high-end fittings. The home is designed to accommodate a multi-generational family easily with multiple bathrooms and a substantial laundry for when everyone returns from a day skiing or exploring. Equally, there are beautiful spaces to hunker-down, watch the snow fall, smell the slow-cooked roast cooking and read a book.
