Sunny Side Up

Rogan Nash Architects presents Sunny Side Up, a contemporary residential new house. This stunning single house is located in Auckland's Westmere, blending seamlessly into the urban fabric of the neighbourhood. The design encapsulates the essence of creating a space where one can enjoy the movement of the sun, share laughter, and indulge in food with family, even the beloved dog. The house features two gabled pavilions clad in Abodo weatherboards, painted grey on the main form and stained naturally on the more sheltered elevations, each pavilion uniquely expressed to break up the mass of the building. Internally, nature-inspired colours create a calming and restful atmosphere, while timber elements add warmth and personality throughout the space. Sunny Side Up won a Bronze Pin at the Best Awards for Residential design and the 2025 TIDA Architect Designed Kitchen award, was a finalist at the World Architecture Festival, and received a 2024 Interior Residential Finalist placing and a Highly Commended at the 2025 TIDA Homes Awards — exemplifying Rogan Nash Architects' innovative and thoughtful approach to architecture.
