This busy young family needed to adapt their home to function better for their day to day lives. Approaching Island Interiors their wish list was for a new kitchen with increased storage and function - including a breakfast bar for casual family dining. Creating a mud room & laundry that had direct access to the outside for those rainy days or arriving home directly from the beach. An extra large family bathroom that included a bath for younger family members and an overall interior design refresh to better reflect them and their lifestyle.

A new floor plan was designed that created good sized workable spaces for each room as well as answering all of the requirements on our client's wish list. Storage played a key part in the re-design with cabinetry used extensively to hide away all of the pieces needed for a busy family life and to create calm and open spaces. The home's beachside location influenced the finishes and colour pallet used throughout - with natural timbers complimenting the bright white, grey, and brass colours used to reflect light and pattern being used to create interest. The end result is a wonderful, modern but casual space that functions well without lacking in style.
