Expansion of New Zealand's largest shopping centre, Sylvia Park, featuring extensive skylights, balustrades, a glass lift shaft, and new wind lobbies, all completed while maintaining mall operations.
New Zealand's largest shopping centre, Sylvia Park Shopping Centre’s Galleria Expansion, Auckland.
This mall extension started in 2018 and all works are required to be carried out while a live mall below was functioning.
Works completed by Woods Glass includes:
- 1,700m2 of skylights which allows natural light flow from one end of the building to the other. This is pleasing to the eye with no glare or heat build-up in the peak of summer making for a very comfortable shopping experience.
- 350 Lm of balustrade opens the void between old and new and allows the natural light to penetrate throughout.
- Glass lift shaft which spans the new entry to Level 2 that is wrapped by one of the many balustrades we installed.
- 12 new Wind lobbies spread throughout the mall allows mall patrons access to the new multi-storey carparks.
- Installation of Level 2 Cafe court Façade with its stunning 5.1m tall face glass and fins along with ground floor feature fins
