Designsource Contract have been busy supplying natural stone to several downtown projects.
Te Komititanga Square is the latest project to be completed by John Fillmore Contracting in lower Queen St and is Auckland's newest civic square.
Designsource worked with Jasmax to source appropriate coloured granite pavers with different textures to make up the magnificent stone Whariki welcome mat.
Tessa Harrison and her weaving team representing Mana Whenua co-designed the exquisite work. The Whariki lies between the Central Post Office and newly opened Commercial Bay. The mat is flanked by a stone design depicting the waters of the Waitemata meeting the Wai Horotiu stream from the south.
This latest upgrade will connect the Central Rail Link, Britomart, Quay St and the Waitemata Harbour together and make a much needed cultural and civic heart to downtown Auckland. Designsource is proud to have been part of this successful partnership to supply natural stone material for all the above projects, delivering continuity between these urban spaces.
