Executive Apartment
Having previously worked on office fit outs within the building, we were approached in 2018 to do the interior fit out of what would layer be know as The Burlington. Having been used for years as student accommodation, this tired flat in the heart of Dunedin had the potential to become something beautiful.
As the final stage of the revamp of the building, the brief was to create a Boutique Apartment with all the facilities of a new apartment, but still fit within its historic context.
While the technical side of the apartment fit out was nothing out of the ordinary, it was the detailed work with the client on the interior design and finishes that made the finished product so special.
Every aspect of the the two bedroom apartment, from the sage kitchen tiles and the brass bathroom tap-ware to the living room lighting were meticulously chosen to give the whole design a cohesive feel.
High ceilings, north facing windows and a wrap around deck allowed the whole apartment to emit a light grandness which paired with the mineral elemental tones of the furnishings and the metal tones through the tap-ware and lighting brought together a space fit for discerning travellers .
