Built between 1860-1880 this Kauri Church escaped demolition in 1991 and became a popular residential home attracting creative owners.
The Church’s previous colour scheme of apricot, blue and maroon alluded to the bygone hippy era of the 1970’s
Needing a new coat of paint gave the opportunity to create an updated colour scheme.
Inspired by the surrounding garden and rustic nature of the church the scheme evolved. Eight paint colours in total including a modern green for the main body of the Church were applied. The front door was a custom colour named “Church Green” a lush olive with yellow overtones.
Inside a dark grey velvet modular sofa sitting on a rich coloured rug of reds, oranges and grey bought warmth to the interior.
