By Peninsula Roofing & Scaffolding
A series of formal and informal events were held in Whitianga, the Mercury Bay and throughout the Coromandel Peninsula area to celebrate this historic 250th anniversary. The history of these first encounters between Ngāti Hei and Captain James Cook and his Endeavour crew 250 years ago in Te Whanganui a Hei - Mercury Bay were being commemorated.
We were tasked with providing 2 stages. One in the Whitianga town centre, which would host a 12 hour celebration of local artists.
The second stage was for Te Powhiri Welcome at Wharekaho, as part of formal commemorations.
We used Layher Scaffold and Layer Keder Roof Systems to wrap the structures. The PVC Sheet Tarpaulin Roof System has “Green Construction” capabilities. We can reduce plastic waste (shrink wrap usage) as the Layher Keder Roof System PVC sheets utilised on the roof and sides of a structure, are re-usable.
We also provided temporary fencing for the Wharekaho site too.
