A renovation project including a large kitchen with Scullery, Laundry, 2x Bathrooms, 2x Powder Rooms, Wardrobe, Home Office and Pool House kitchen.

The brief and original design drawings were provided by Auckland based AM Architects in conjunction with Nicola Ross Design based in Wellington. Apartmento then worked closely with the architect and client to collaboratively develop the design being careful to ensure that the original design intent was not compromised while also solving the myriad detail design problems that inevitably arise when highly specified bespoke cabinetry is fitted to an existing renovated site.

Apartmento also worked closely with Waiheke based builder Barry Delahunt of Bespoke Constructions to ensure a smooth implementation of the project. Constant and detailed communications with the builder were an essential ingredient to the successful completion of the project.

Kitchen cabinetry was a mix of selected slip matched American White Oak veneer in combination with Laminex Acrylic panels (Col.: Meringue). The marble benchtops (Silver River Italiano) were supplied by Granite Workshop. Details including the expressed divider panels between cabinets on the main Oak run and vertically oriented finger tiles to the Island and all splashbacks provided the unique details that set this project apart from the norm. The juxtaposition of straight lines with the judicious use of subtle curves also gives this incredibly well appointed kitchen a high level of sophistication and simple elegance.

Throughtout this project careful attention was paid to the use of quality materials and high quality craftsmanship. The end result is a beautifully renovated family home that is a testament to good design intentions, supportive and motivated clients, an experienced and knowledgeable builder all working closely with Apartmento's skilled team of cabinetmakers.
