The Waipapa Apartments consist of a 4-storey dual structure constructed of a mixture of precast concrete, in-situ concrete and structural steel courtesy of Herbst Maxcey Metropolitan Architects & Structure Design. The ground floor of the dual structure houses two retail premises, a covered carpark for tenants and residences and a podium roof that acts as a courtyard for residences to enjoy the afternoon sun.

Above the ground floor houses 18 apartments over the top three floors. Each apartment is lined with the finest materials and architectural specifications money can buy in today’s market including; fire rated melamine kitchen joinery, acoustically isolated bedroom flooring and level 5 finishes throughout.

External finishing of the building consists of an ensemble of AliWood and Nu-Wall aluminium sheeting in between exposed and painted full height precast walls. A green facade and numerous planter boxes are then installed to the faces of the building, creating a stunning contrast between the woodgrain powder coated aluminium cladding and greenery of the green facade.

The site is small and confined, with an apartment complex and retail space to either side of the site, much akin to normal construction in the Central Auckland area. Teak staff have worked quickly, tidily & respectfully around the existing residents to complete the project on time and to the highest standard, while making sure the neighbors lives remain unaffected by the works
