A Tired Home

This monolithic, texture clad home had several cracks through the plaster – which is typical for monolithic homes after a few years. The timber garage door, front door and pergolas were all looking worse for wear. Linda also wanted a new colour to brighten the outside.

Finding a Painter, You Can Trust

A Scientific Approach    

We began by washing down their house to get rid of any mould and mildew. Then we sanded all the gutters and overhanging eves where necessary. For the ageing plaster, we used Resene X-200 to fill in the cracks. This paint also provides a weathertight membrane meaning it will protect their home from water ingress while allowing moisture to evaporate from inside the house.  

Paint used:

• The gutters were painted with Resene Summit Roof – Ironsand.
• The eves were painted in Lumbersider – Eighth Truffle.
• The main membrane coating was painted in Double Truffle.
• The pergola was painted in Resene Lumbersider.
• The garage door and front door were coated in CD50 – supplied by the client.
• The textured cladding was painted with two coats of Resene X-200 Weathertight Membrane.

Thoughtfulness and Caring

As Linda’s parents were home during the day we wanted as little disruption to their daily lives as possible. We understand that having someone paint your home can be an imposition on your privacy, so we worked out a schedule to suit them and made sure everything ran according to plan. Linda’s parents also have a beautiful garden which we protected from our own team and our friends at Scafworx Ltd.
