Zinc House

Website

On the edge of the sand dunes, an hour's drive north of Auckland, this family bach enjoys unobstructed coastal views. Building controls limited the design to a single-level development so the architects utilised low, heavily textured and elongated forms to compliment the natural environment. The open-plan layout offers breathtaking views from every angle and features two sheltered courtyards. The design maximises its coastal location by creating a seamless transition to the beach.
